Cuisine Canada Blog

Learning new software is a bit like cooking on a new stove. While the concept is the same, the oven light switch is in a different location, the knobs work in unexpected ways (why didn’t anyone tell me you had to push them in first?) and until you’re used to the elements’ quirks, you’ll burn things.

I’ve been learning WordPress for the newly launched Cuisine Canada blog, and today I ruined my post. Three times. First my lovely carrot photo wouldn’t load. Then the formatting went AWOL, leaving me with an unreadable block of text. And finally, the software seized like it was a chi-chi pot of melted chocolate and I was a big blob of water.

If rebooting hadn’t fixed the situation, I would have been a big blob of water — spilling tears all over the keyboard and short circuiting my aging computer. Fortunately, I got the post up, but it took 2 hours and added several dollars to the cuss jar.

This is all an elaborate way of telling you I’m now involved with Cuisine Canada’s new blog. If you’re interested in learning about Canadian ingredients, culinary events, cookbooks, chefs and food news, we’ll be discussing it there.

If you’re not, don’t worry. I’ll still be here, Monday to Friday.

I’ve had enough of computers for one morning, so am signing off. As a thank you for dropping by, here’s a little pre-Valentine’s Day food porn. Chocolate and raspberries. Does it get any better?
