Reader Questions – Leftover Cranberry Sauce
It’s a new year and I’m adding a new category — Reader Questions. While I can’t guarantee I’ll know the answer, I figure if I mine the collective wisdom of my diverse and knowledgeable readers, we should be able to come up with a wide range of delicious, doable answers. So, if you have a culinary question Google can’t solve, email me. I’ll post one of your stumpers every couple of weeks.
The idea for Reader Questions came from Elizabeth Kricfalusi, a fellow writer who did a blog swap with me in the summer. So, to kick of this bi-weekly feature, here’s Elizabeth’s question:
I would like some suggestions as to what to do with leftover cranberry sauce. I gave up eating meat earlier last year, but I decided to treat myself at Christmas to an organic, free-roaming, heritage turkey. And since I would never consider eating roast turkey without cranberry sauce, I made a batch of it. But I won’t be having chicken or turkey again this year, so am not sure what to do with the leftovers. I know you can use cranberries themselves in other recipes like muffins, etc., but not sure what to do once it’s been saucified.
I don’t normally eat cranberry sauce and am as perplexed as Elizabeth. Any suggestions?
