Thanksgiving Day Gratitude

DSC06719.JPGServes me right for making that smart alec remark about apple picking and foreign films. Yesterday’s outing didn’t go as planned. And it’s all my fault.

I made an erroneous assumption and failed to communicate adequately. Because of this, there is no apple pie for Thanksgiving dessert.

Fortunately, I’ve got plenty of Concord grapes and my siblings are a forgiving pair. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I offer them an apology (and an extra helping of pie) in the form of a gratitude list.

I am thankful my sisters weren’t angry when it turns out The Igantius Centre doesn’t have apple picking (although it has 10 acres of apples.)

I am thankful Allison was willing to walk the labyrinth then sit on a bench while Robin and I spent 90 minutes taking photos in lieu of picking apples.

I am thankful the orchard owners didn’t kick us out when we ignored the “Staff Only” signs and traipsed among their trees.

I am thankful the bees at the orchard apiary didn’t sting us.

I am thankful The Red Brick was open so we could have a post-photography session tea.

I am thankful my sisters are willing to take me apple picking again.

I am also thankful Allison was sport enough to let me take her photo on our botched afternoon trek.

And that covers just a couple of hours in a single day. I’m not good at math, but if you extrapolate my gratitude for a whole year, it’s enough to clog the blogosphere.

What are you grateful for?
