Crazy for Crockpots
Stephanie, aka the Crockpot Lady, is one brave cook. She’s vowed to make a crockpot recipe a day — every day — for 2008. Not only does she make the expected soups and stews, she steps outside the slowcooker box and makes falafels.
And pancakes.
And stuffed peppers.
And brownies.
I’m not sure if I’m inspired or jealous. Even her slightly-too-sticky Crockpot Cracker Jack was a success. Me? The one time I strayed from my tried-and-true slow cooker main dishes I burned the bread pudding.
With the warm weather coming, crockpots make a lot of sense. They won’t heat up the kitchen and will stave off barbecue burn out. I’m considering hauling mine out of storage and giving desserts another try. If you’re curious, need to spark your culinary imagination, or are out of propane, head over to Stephanie’s blog, A Year of CrockPotting, and see if she’s sticking to her New Year’s resolution.
