Whisky Works – As the Barrel Turns (Episode 11 – Easter Edition)
This week, As the Barrel Turns wishes to dispute former guest turner and current trouble maker, Phil Langotz, who dared to suggest I had an unhealthy need for media attention. It’s not about me, Phil, it’s about the hat.
Yes, it’s Easter and to honour the barrel in proper form I have been forced to don an Easter Bonnet since Dr. Thomson firlmly declined. “I’m not wearing that thing,” he demurred.
In lieu of turning duties, Thomson stepped behind the camera. During what I will kindly call the photo session, we learned that photography is not his strong point. Initially, Thomson struggled with the autofocus and eventually realized, that like many things in life, he was making them harder than necessary. “When I looked at the view finder I kept thinking the no smoking sign was the camera trying to tell me something.”
As first female guest turner, I took my duties seriously. You see me here pondering the best method of rotation. Hmmm….
Rotation completed with nary a broken finger nail, I diligently endeavored to ensure the tap was level. Unfortunately, the tool-challenged Thomson did not think to provide the proper implement, so I was forced to improvise.
Another successful turn. We celebrate with a purple Easter Egg.
Oh yeah. The Easter Bunny showed up. Who’s media whore now?
Next week, stay tuned when Dr. Thomson samples the whisky in celebration of his birthday.
