Chocolate and vanilla by The Messy Baker®

I’m often asked which I like best, chocolate or vanilla. To me it’s not an either or option. I love them both and to prove it,  I’m on air at two stations today talking chocolate at one and vanilla at the other.

Over at CTV Kitchener’s New at Noon, I’m going vanilla. And not boring, bland vanilla. To showcase the possibilities, I’ve made vanilla cookies, dipped them in a vanilla glazed and sprinkled the results with vanilla salt.     Yes, you can answer BOTH chocolate and vanilla! I think that’s the perfect answer. They go so well together, too!

    I get my beans from a variety of sources. I sometimes get them from the grocery store or specialty cooking stores. I order Mexican vanilla beans, which are hard to find, from Really Horrible Enterprises via Foodie Pages (https://www.foodiepages.ca/producer/Really_Horrible_Enterprises) and Madagascar beans via Vanilla Food Company(http://www.vanillafoodcompany.ca/Gourmet-Vanilla-Beans-s/3.htm). I am not affiliated with any of these companies.

    Well, I can’t argue with that! I actually love the combination of chocolate paired with vanilla whether it’s in a layer cake, filled cookie or trifle.

    Great. Now I’m hungry 🙂
