Whisky Works – As The Barrel Turns (Episode 17)

Today, for As the Barrel Turns, Dr Thomson ventured into the Big City in hopes of acquiring an Aaron Hill bobblehead. “Good glove. Good stick. Future all star,” Thomson says. “I had hoped this promising player would bring luck to my whisky.”

But alas, everyone at Skydome Rogers Centre wanted a bit of Hill luck, too. So when Thomson got there, the bobblehead cupboard was bare. He had to take solace in Toronto’s 4-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox.

Without Hill, Thomson turns to the cagey veterans but realizes, though they are still dressed in uniform, Cito Gaston, Carlos Delgado and Eric Hinske are no longer with the Jays.

A bigger problem? With no a pitcher in site, Thomson’s rotation hasn’t a hope. What’s a guy to do?

Turning to the bullpen…

Don Cherry: Wrong sport.

Hazel McCallion: Too risky. Her curve ball has lost its bite.

In the end, Thomson toes the rubber and puts himself into the rotation.

Thomson is on his game and retires the side without damage. The crowd goes wild.

Tune in next week, when we wring the life out of a golf metaphor.

Yup, Hazel has her own bobblehead. Not sure where Andrew picked it up, but the old girl sure has a fan base.

Tune in to future episodes. We have more surprises in store…
