16 Feb I’m toast!
I officially surrender. There are no decent blog templates out there for foodies. At least not ones that work with Blogger.
So, forget the fancy-shmancy photo-rich layouts with their elegant colours and layered backgrounds. No faux-leather sidebars and ultra-chic label clouds for this technically inept blogger. It’s just a plain white background, black text and charred bread.
Pretty much sums things up on my end.
If by any chance you can’t read the new layout. Let me know. We’ll just pretend none of this happened and I’ll go back to the ugly but stable polka dots. In the meantime, I’m going to scrape what’s left of my damaged ego into the rubbish bin and head to bed.
Tomorrow’s another day. Can’t be worse, she said, tempting fate.

Posted at 00:17h, 20 FebruaryLooks fine to me, Charmian. I’ve got it up on both Firefox and Safari here, no problemo. There are people who barely known how to turn on their monitors, so it might not have been your fault. I missed the earlier reno, but I like the toast motif!

Posted at 10:24h, 20 FebruaryThat’s what I told myself initially, but several people mentioned the graphics overlapped the post and other people couldn’t read the title text. The weirdest part was checking it on my husband’s monitor. One day it would look fine, one day it would be a sea of yellow. Without the burgundy background for the header, this rendered the title invisible. Sigh…
Too bad. The gourmet design was pretty. However, the toast motif seems more suited as of late.

Posted at 14:39h, 21 FebruaryLooks really nice. I strongly dislike Blogger however. Super difficult for me since I’m on dial up. WordPress and Typepad are much more viewer friendly. The toast at the top is really quite clever, and appealing!

Posted at 18:42h, 21 FebruaryHi Diane,
Glad you like the toast. I was gutted when I learned so many people couldn’t view the spiffy new template I’d taken three days to find.
I was ready to jump ship to WordPress over the issue but after speaking with many writers have decided to stay put — for now.
Please, please, update me on how you find the transition to WordPress. And good luck with the move!
